Newborn Prep Guide
Newborn photography requires a specific skill set, lots of patience, and experience. I love posing and photographing your sweet babies. While I will be doing everything in my power to ensure a successful session, there are a couple things I ask of you:
Outfits
Have your outfits for the family photo portion ready. Be sure to choose solid prints so that you do not distract from your little one. however, I strongly recommend incorporating textures (corduroy, muslin, waffle knit, crochet). Always remember to coordinate rather than match.
Diaper bag
Always bring plenty of milk. whether you're nursing or bottle feeding please be prepared for your little one to eat more than usual. Bring diapers, wipes, burp clothes, a Paci (even if he/she usually doesn't use one) and snacks for you.
Siblings
this session ranges from 2-5 hours, depending on your little one. this can be very lengthy so please have siblings arrive only for the family photo portion. my studio space is small and noise needs to be limited.
Plan ahead
this section is the most important. Please be sure to keep your little one awake at least one hour prior to the session and feed upon arrival. I know this can be stressful but it really helps set me up for success. Try giving your baby a bath, play music, dress down to a diaper only, to keep baby awake. they will likely fall asleep on the car ride and that is perfectly okay.
